One of the Nigerian Dwarf goats is ready to kid any day now. The last litter had 4 with two having the most beautiful blue eyes. Goat kids are so entertaining.
Yes, you can pick them up. They really are of good temperament and are sold as pets. They are easily litter box trained, leash trained, don't shed, but like a dog, take a certain amount of commitment and attention.
They were born on the 19th, one day after the owner of the farm left for a 10 day vacation a cruise, lol, just as the temperature bottomed out at 16* here, but what a wonderful experience, except for the two that the mother crushed, that was really sad, but that's nature. The three that survived are doing very well and are already venturing out to discover the world.
Great! I'm sure mama is having fun.
ReplyDeleteCute critters.
ReplyDeletethese are Teacups pigs and only weigh about 8-9 ounces at birth and when full grown will be between 12"-16" tall and weigh between 30-65 lbs.
