Below is a link to a column by Thomas Friedmann, in which he discusses Gov. Perry, Michelle Bachmann, AGW, and national energy policy. He makes sense.

Angels caught on camera
There is not much that the compiler of this page likes more than reporting on people rescuing people, a few important people and malt beverages being examples of those exceptions. The adjacent photo shows people in Logan, Utah, lifting a car so that one of their number can pull a motorcylist, who is a student at Utah State, to safety away from the crushing car and his blazing mount. One of his rescuers is a doctoral candidate from Ghana, the other a doctoral candidate from Lebanon. Neither that pair nor their companions call themselves heroes. This compiler does, and I'm sure the motorcyclist does also.
Awesome video. At first, nobody seems to know what to do, then a young woman assesses the situation and seems to take command and a mixed bag of people, maybe eight in all, lifts the car...students, hard hats, a cop...then another hard hat comes rushing in and helps pull the guy out.
ReplyDeleteThen everybody just walks away like "Oh, we do this every day." Good stuff.
