Winston-Salem Journal LTE's MO 01/02/12

The biggest problem
I believe that the biggest problem in our country today is that we have a whole generation of adult brats who were never taught to care about other people when they were children. As adults, they have gotten control of our government and the economy.
Their primary goal in life is to get as rich as possible and they will use any trick to get there. They have no appreciation toward the less fortunate people. The result is that only a minority of citizens can prosper financially.

Benefits of transition
Being a student at the Career Center, I've heard countless opinions about the move to the new campus next to Kennedy High School and I've noticed that the general mood among people is a negative one. Parents can seem to discuss only the dangers of their children driving a busy route, and many adults have deemed the new location unsafe. The attitude among the students is also anxious; many kids are weary about learning all-new class locations, driving routes and parking conditions.
However, teachers are excited about new classrooms and equipment. At the old Career Center, technology was limited and didn't get used often. In addition, the temperatures were erratic, and parking was a nightmare. It's safe to say that the old location has done its job but doesn't accommodate the growing number of students anymore.
I'm aware that the concerns of parents and students are natural; people will always be cautious of change. Nevertheless, people should focus on the benefits of the transition. There will be adequate parking and organized class locations, not to mention a surplus of brand new technology for students to take advantage of. School staff is going out of its way to make sure the transition is smooth. Driving directions from every school are now available online and teachers are always up to answering questions.
I think the Career Center's new location will be a blessing, and while people's concerns are understandable, I'm sure the kinks will work themselves out.

  3. Also: a reminder that posters CAN be blocked. Just sayin'.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I'll leave those decisions to Staballoy.

"Tim, I was sooo completely talking about the way you would teach. The way you would say crazy things to get kids outraged and discussing things in class."

I had that figured out two years ago when LindseyGraham started posting. Constant and repetitive use of negative key words and phrases trying to illicit a limbic response (detective 101),Argue, an agreesive verbal fight using insults, ad hominem phrases: attacking the speaker rather than the topic, counter allegations, denigration of professional stature, goading, and sarcasm. Fascinating stuff.

  5. 06/16/10 His (LG's) Spanish is very good I would say. He caught a grammatical error of mine one day that is fairly sophisticated, dealing with reflexive verbs and the present subjunctive..... Even if JournalNow cut him off, he would probably just open up another account using a different email.

It was as aka knotheadedDemocrat that he said he resigned his teaching job for the state.

Tim, who taught sociology at FTCC: "3. been fired twice, resigned 3 times"

Tim, Dr Taco, must love Mexican food or why else have one's birthday party at Monte de Rey

  6. but I'm just an ole country boy that studied history, what would I know.

  7. Those are all good tools to illicit discussion. I knew of a poster on another forum I participated in who posted such crass comments that it would prompt so many people to click on links to his blog just to find out who this person was that would post such vile and despicable hate. Then all of a sudden, his postings stopped. Months later after googling his screen name we found out that he had passed on, succumbing to a lengthy illness. We surmise that the ads in his blog was paying for ongoing medical bills.

Then there are people like Tim who just can't help themselves. He may have learned these technique during the course of his career, but his life is such that he feels empty unless he feels the emotional roller coaster that he draws from our responses. Also, keep in mind that if indeed he is unemployed he is passed up for job opportunities not because of lack of experience or qualifications but because he can't change who he is; his notoriety will follow him everywhere he goes. An then of course, his inability to achieve employment will be someone else's fault, not his own.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Something else to consider is that he not only was fired from a job, he was also fired as a VOLUNTEER. What a blow to the human psyche to be fired as a volunteer.

    ReplyDelete
  9. but I must say in all due respect, Dr T's students seem to really love and respect him, at t least the one's that respond to his facebook page.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Of course, he can still list all this experience on his resumé while prospective employers are vetting.

  11. Here's something interesting, the same Tim Britton posts his birthday as feb 20, 1950 on facebook, yet on the NCS Chapter website he states:

"am struggling to the BIG transition that is facing me, now that I hit the big 70"

    ReplyDelete
  12. Fascinating.

Bob, you might want to write a paper on message boards. I can think of a few other posters that would worth examining.

I mean, this could have been my Master's thesis last year.

    ReplyDelete
  13. all aside, Tim, the best of health to you in the future, hope the surgery went well and all is clear. We do have at least one thing in common. We are both survivors.

    ReplyDelete
  14. 1950 makes him 60-ish, but I think he's closer to 70-ish.

    ReplyDelete
  15. lol Good Morning Arthur. I'm just waiting on my Chicago connections to come through to bring perhaps even more mind boggling information.

    ReplyDelete
  16. yea, not really safe to list the correct birthdate on facebook, and keep an open profile and as a Fullbright Scholar, Tim would know that.

    ReplyDelete
  17. lol, so what did you learn today on morning "Buffcoach"

  18. Has anyone(other than Bob) been on the JournalNow LTE's lately. The last time I checked, just a few days ago, LTE comments were down to 4. Of those four our everlasting Deb was present.

Re LTE#2: out of the mouths of babes.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Correction: Deb's comment was re Hispanics, not LTE's.

    ReplyDelete
  20. yep, comments there are rather scattered, JD and CaniacSteve are about the only daily commenters anymore.

  21. It's just interesting to me that an educated, bright man (and very talented bladesmith apparently) would have a side hobby as anti-gay, Democrat and Latino hating troll.

He must enjoy the emotional response he provokes in people in forums such as this, but what does that say about him? I have no clue.

    Strange days indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Arthur and Anne are regulars and I put in my 2 cents occasionally

    ReplyDelete
  23. I posted there today, but I try and tone my stuff down compared to the old days. Looking for a job and all that.

Plus Roblo58 swore he'd be my worst enemy, and I don't need any more of those. But Roblo always was kind of a drama queen.

  24. Perhaps it IS difficult for superannuated canines to incorporate novel activities considering it seems that was his MO teaching.

  25. Can I assume that some of you have discovered the actual identity of Bucky, or do you suspect you have discovered it? I can't tell.

  26. Mornin', WW. I'm not 100% yet, but the similarities are striking and like Special Agent Gibbs, "I don't believe in coincidence." alas, had I met Ziva when I was 20, it might have changed my life forever. ;) She's HOT!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. We enjoy NCIS too. I met a "Ziva" way back when. I don't know if she could have kicked my a double, but I was agreeable if she wanted to.

  28. No one will actually know unless / until he owns up to it. It's possible we are FAR from the truth, but I trust my sources.

I previously posted that Tim Britton was an alum of the inaugural FCSO Volunteer program, but his tenure was short-lived. Tim lists Tim Wooten, who I know to be a retired FCSO deputy, as a FB friend. Another source tells me Lindsey Graham is a poster on FCSO WATCH and that Justice is an administrator, and that both screen names are one and the same although this is conjecture on the part of my source. I trust my sources.

Based on his statements on this and the JournalNow forum, and me asking him one or two key and well thought out questions, he's pretty much confirmed my suspicion. But he won't outright confirm it because that would mean the end of his game that he seems to enjoy. Why else would he come back?

  29. If any of you are into crime shows, you should check out Breaking Bad on AMC or Netflix. It's a about a high school chemistry teacher who gets diagnosed with cancer and becomes a meth dealer. It's very addictive. Pardon the expression.

  30. Okay...I should have known. This is a good example of how group behavior becomes a problem. One person calls another person a hater, bigot, or other unfounded, hateful name, and then everybody starts a campaign of hate against that person. It's what liberals do everyday, so I'm not surprised.

This reminds me of when people used go nuts when a white woman said she was raped by a black man. Suddenly, the MOB starts accosting all black men. It's sick group behavior.

It's seems only appropriate that a female has initiated this sick, aggressive behavior by males.

I can see why most of you apparently supported Obama, because it's clear you don't know how to evaluate and determine the true character of people.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Glad you made an appearance, Bucky. Very interesting and intriguing discussion.

    ReplyDelete
  32. LaSombra, I went to school with Tim Wooten, know him well. I was one year ahead. Wooten studied Police Science/Criminal Justice at Forsyth Tech. Perhaps he too was one of Dr. T's students. Bucky (LG) has often spoken of Wooten and his untimely and perhaps unjust (I don't know all the details) "retirement."

    ReplyDelete
  33. there goes those keywords again in mirrored projection

    Mornin' Bucky

  34. If you go to the FCSO Watch and try to view a profile, unless you are registered member you get this:

The board requires you to be registered and logged in to view profiles.

However, there is a simple catch, if anyone is interested. :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Arthur.....posting information that is factual about gay life, conduct, or health issues etc. is not anti-gay. That's another myth you liberals like to spread. It's a not so subtle attempt to stifle the truth, and continue the politically correct myth that the gay lifestyle et al is a wonderful alternative, form of sexuality void of problems.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yeah, what's the catch Bobby?

    ReplyDelete
  37. which reminds me, Bucky,
“It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.”
“Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.” at which you excel.

no sexuality is void of problems.

    ReplyDelete
  38. lol, what so you can fix it?

  39. True Bobby....however, I think we've seen from recent events, based on the total population of gay and lesbians, compared to the heterosexual population, that there's a huge disparity between the percentages of pedophiles and other trouble makers in the former group.

I'm working on getting the numbers to back up that assertion. However, poltically correct liberals have made that difficult as most law enforcement agencies do not collect that type of data.

I guess I should look on the 'Good HouseKeeping' or 'Finance World' sites like you do, but I'm trying to use a reputable source.

    What's the catch Bobby?

  46. Very good Bobby. Now help me out with the Schatzman/bank robbery question.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Wouldn't it be VERY interesting if Schatzman was inside of a bank during a robbery years ago, and the Journal covered it up all these years?

    ReplyDelete
  48. That's what I thought. Well, my services aren't cheap and I'm afraid you just don't have the means. :)

  49. If you crack that one Bobby, I'll let you off of stapling duty at WalMart.

  51. ODM!!! (spanish for OMG) Dr Taco has a very naughty picture in his Fun Stuff!!! But we do share in common a love for birds and cats.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I must go do some undercover work (which for me is lunch and a nap). Catch ya later.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Birds and cats? I hope you don't keep them together. Twitty Bird could go missing.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Dr. Taco doesn't sound very respectful. Especially since the man is a Phd. Sounds like something I'd say.

    ReplyDelete
  55. "Katie told me you are now officially " Dr. Taco" "

Maybe he was fired for getting a bit too close to his students.

  58. Rielle, I had no idea I had so appropriately nicknamed you.

  59. Hey Rielle...what did you get for Christmas? Some Nancy Drew books? Jeez. You two are a pair.

    ReplyDelete
  68. ¿Que pasa? ¡Que tal! I mean to notice an error in the present subjunctive of a reflexive verb takes a bit more than just the basics.

    ReplyDelete
  69. LOL! I speak Texican Spanglish!

Actually that's the firs line of a song titled "Decir que tu no eres" by Jae-p, a spanish language rapper. Check him out.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I guess you people are chatting on another website while monitoring this one. Just shows that some people can't multi-task.

I don't speak another language while others that don't are present. It's rude. It's uncultured. Of course, both of you wouldn't know that as you all are liberal Democrats. Just one step up from common vermin.

Here's what I read on another site.

It appears as though you`re a damn democrat! Ah hell! Just an assumption on my part! Because that`s what they do when confronted with facts. Like a bunch of cockroaches when confronted with a can of "Raid".

    ReplyDelete
  71. Timoteeeeeeeeo

“Indecency, vulgarity, obscenity- these are strictly confined to man; he invented them. Among the higher animals there is no trace of them.” which would include vermin.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Thanks LaSombra, I like rap, Gucci Mane, The Joker, B.O.B., I'll add Jae-P to the list.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Bucky, this is a website, no one is present.

    ReplyDelete
  74. and no one is speaking, it's all written.

  75. @Bob: While your're at it, check out Ozomatli.

    ReplyDelete
  76. :) just made an Ozohead out of me, again Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I am delighted at all of the detective work...well done Bob, LaSombra and anyone else who has contributed so far.

On the other hand, I don't care who Bucky/Knothead/LG, etc actually is. I can only judge him by his posts here

He is always demanding "proof" from others, which there has been plenty of. When given, he simply ignores it or denies it, as in Bob's crime stats, which come from one of the best sources available, while demanding numbers from the FBI, which any second year criminology student knows is the least accurate of all national crime reports.

On the other hand, he has never offered a single legitimate source for any of his outrageous statements.

So based on what he posts here, we must conclude that he is an ignorant bigot who is frightened to death of anyone or anything that is not like him.

I occasionally forward some of his more outrageous assertions to some of my friends for their entertainment.

They call him "Mister Bluster". I concur.

    ReplyDelete
  78. O.T., I think he just messes with our minds on this forum.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Or tries to, at least. It's much ado about nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  80. and some really good stuff is yet to come,,oh my, time sure flies when kicking butt, it's almost my bedtime.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Man....the liberal villagers get nasty when they don't know what to do with somebody.

Bobby....you did do a pretty good job in here today. You get the gold star. You don't have to staple bags at WalMart tomorrow. Too bad you and Nancy Drew A/K/A Rielle Hunter are still on the wrong track. But it's all fun, right?

Wordly, you're my favorite besides Bobby. There's hope for you.

    Nighty nite!

    ReplyDelete
  82. @Rush: Like I've told ya'll before, I used to be a skip tracer. Nowadays it's called googling.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Yeah, I know. My friend at the library is an expert people finder.

A few years ago he got an e-mail from some folks in another state who had found a high school ring. All he had to go on was the name of the school, the year, 1947, I think, and the initials of the owner.

He was able to find a high school annual, match the initials to a woman, find her marriage record and track down her phone number. He called and left a message, but got no response.

So he used birth records and more marriage records to find one of her two daughters. Turns out that the mother was in an old folks home and never checked her voice mail.

It also turned out that the younger daughter had lost the ring about 40 years earlier and had been feeling guilty ever since.

So the mother got a very special Christmas present that year and the younger daughter was finally off the hook.

My friend got a front page article in the Journal, but he does the same sort of thing all the time.
